Martin Stark's story is remarkable for its many twists and turns--but his ability to take the enormous bumps and near-death experiences as a way to encounter life on his own terms is extraordinary. Each page tells a story, and the culmination of those stories shows each of is how to work through our own trials and tribulations as not only an act of courage, but as a way to embrace joy and happiness. These are important lessons that each of us can benefit from. Thank you, Martin Stark, for showing us the way.

Inspiring insight into Martin's journey from the vestiges of life to a positive force of change

I enjoyed Martin's book as it offered quite an intimate look into Martin's own journey dealing with Addison's disease, navigating the struggles of a young gay man in the mental health system of the 1980s and 1990s, and overcoming enormous odds to find the courage and strength within to move forward. He details how he overcame these struggles and used the resilience he's developed to push forward as an outspoken and positive force for change for the LGBTQ+ sport community and beyond. Definitely worth a read for anybody looking for some courage and guidance within.
